Phil Turner

IntegraLink Chief Technical Officer

Phil Turner began working for Proficient Computing Solutions in 1976, when the company’s name was Management Computer Services. A high school student at the time, Turner worked as a programmer on the MCS general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and job-cost accounting applications.

Turner earned a B.S. in Chemistry from The Ohio State University, graduating summa cum laude in 1982, and was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa. While at OSU, Turner continued to work as a programmer for the company. In 1980, Turner was promoted to systems analyst and took on responsibility for designing and implementing distribution management systems, including inventory control and order entry.

After graduation from Ohio State, Turner continued his education at The Wharton School, with concentration on strategic management, and earned an MBA with distinction in 1985. While at Wharton, he continued to work as a systems analyst for the company.

Two years after returning to work full-time, Turner was promoted to vice president of operations. He took an active part in the development of an international parts locating service for General Motors dealerships and was the driving force behind the company's shift from mainframe-type computing to desktop systems.

Turner was named president in 1994 when The Reynolds and Reynolds Company of Dayton acquired the company's One Touch Locator parts locating service. It was at that time that Management Computer Services became Proficient Computing Solutions.

Turner designed and implemented his first data collection system in 1989 as a component of the One Touch Locator. In 1994, Reynolds and Reynolds hired him to design and implement a second-generation data collection system to drive their service reminder business. Then, in 1998 Phil created a third-generation data collection system for the exclusive use of IntegraLink.

Concentrating today on the issues of connectivity, open systems, and scaleable computing, Turner strives to make the power of the computer more accessible and more useful.

In his personal life, Phil has been a member of the Columbus Rotary Club since 1983 and is an advisor to the Kappa Sigma fraternity. Additionally, he holds a private pilot’s license with instrument rating and enjoys both tennis and alpine skiing. He is also a past member of the board of Junior Achievement of Central Ohio.
